Self- Employment helps define an individual’s place in the community. The unemployed are often excluded from important activities and roles within the social group. Moreover, it is no exaggeration to say that PwDs have always been neglected underestimating their working capabilities. To help the disabled children lead a normal, dignified and independent life, VSSD aims at leading them to some income generating activity. Considering this as a responsibility, VSSD started its own Self-Employment scheme named as “Apna Rozgar Yojna”. Under the scheme, PwDs are provided with Loan without any interest to set up a business of own interest or to extend the business already in working in the form of providing essential assets in relation to the business started, as: “Dhaba”, “Pan stall”, “cobbler (mochi)”, “General store”, “Tailor”, “vegetable selling”, “Mehendi stalls” etc. (not in cash).
We assume that this initiative of the society will help the people with disabilities to create mile stones.
