SMILE

The SMILE (Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Empowerment) project is a welfare initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable and marginalized sections of society. Managed by the VSSD (Voluntary Support and Social Development) unit under the DSW (Department of Social Welfare) section, the project focuses on rehabilitation, social inclusion, and capacity-building of individuals who face social and economic disadvantages.

The program works to ensure that beneficiaries gain access to basic services such as shelter, healthcare, education, and skill development, enabling them to lead a dignified and self-reliant life.

Objective :-

To empower marginalized groups by providing them with opportunities for sustainable livelihood, social protection, and personal development.

Target Beneficiaries :-

Individuals from vulnerable backgrounds such as the homeless, destitute, and socially excluded communities.

Key Components:-

  • Rehabilitation and shelter support
  • Skill development and vocational training
  • Access to healthcare and counseling services
  • Awareness and social inclusion programs

Implementation Role of VSSD:-

VSSD acts as the implementing body, coordinating field activities, outreach programs, and beneficiary support services under the supervision of the DSW section.
