Being employed means being committed to participation in an activity, fellowship with others and an occupational identity. For people with a disability, such aspects are probably even more important, largely because these individuals have become an increasingly marginalized group in contemporary working life, with its great demands for education, flexibility and productivity. VSSD organizes various job fairs with the help of Government, NGO and other companies to create their livelihood opportunity. We prepare candidates for interviews during their training program. Our aim is to one step towards Sustainable Development.
Self-Employment Project aims to create the demand of the skilled workforce of persons with disability in various industries by way of carrying job mapping drives and making the candidates competent and skilled to perform the job. Self- Employment helps in defining an individual’s place in the community especially to help the disabled citizens, live a normal, dignified and independent life.
Through Viklang Margdarshan Kendra, regularly guidance for self-employment (Self-Employment Scheme) is being offered to Persons with Disabilities, who belongs to Economically Weaker Sections. Also under Apna Rozgar Yojana (ARY) program is for needy PwDs and individual youths, those who are illiterate, unskilled and jobless are taken care. Till now 3115 beneficiaries are assisted through ARY program and these beneficiaries are earning between Rs. 100 to 300 per day.
Further, The ARY is extended its programs to support more heads as “Dhaba”, “Pan stall”, “cobbler (mochi)”, “General store”, “Tailor”, “vegetable selling”, “Mehandi stalls” etc.
